Hamilton Water Palace’s leisure pool and flume facilities are to remain closed to the public this month.
Disappointed users were keen to take advantage of the Jubilee holiday and use the facilities but were saddened to find that the leisure pool and health suite were closed.
One parent told Lanarkshire Live: “I was hoping my wee boy and his friend could visit the Water Palace while they were both off on their bank holiday break.

“But, when I called up to book them in for a session there was an automated message saying that the leisure pool, flume and health suite were all closed.
“I was surprised to find this and disappointed. I couldn’t actually find out any details online as to why it was closed or when it was likely to re-open.”
Kay Morrison, general manager of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, told us: “We are working in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council and hope to have the Hamilton Water Palace leisure pool open within the coming months.
“Unfortunately, the level of work required on the flume is more extensive than originally anticipated and this will therefore take a little longer to reopen for customer use.
“As with other organisations across the country, recruitment continues to be a challenge, but we are pleased to advise that the main pool and Pirate Ship are available, the health suite has re-opened and we will continue to expand on service provision in the coming months.
“SLLC appreciates that some customers may be disappointed, but please be assured we will continue to work hard on our business recovery and would like to thank our customers for their patience.”
